Message from the Representative

The advancement of science and technology hinges upon the continuous development of novel substances. In this regard, the science of synthesis stands as the driving force for propelling progress forward. In April 2024, we launched an ambitious project: the ‘Integrated Science of Synthesis by Chemical Structure Reprogramming (SReP)’, which is aimed at catalyzing this engine of innovation. Our objective is clear: to establish methodologies that enable the manipulation of skeletal structures within substances.

This SReP methodology metaphorically parallels the task of swapping the third floors of Osaka Castle and Himeji Castle. To achieve such remarkable feats, we must surmount the barriers that traditionally separate classical academic disciplines, such as organic and inorganic chemistry, based on the substances of interest.

Our approach involves amalgamating cutting-edge research findings from diverse fields and fostering collaborative discourse to forge a groundbreaking synthetic science that will captivate the world. We have taken decisive strides towards realizing SReP by assembling a team of experts who are proficient in synthesizing various target materials, as well as in advanced measurement and theoretical analysis. We eagerly anticipate the involvement of an even broader spectrum of researchers in this transformative journey.
